Find a slice of seaside heaven at the Waterford Marina Hotel

Set on the quieter side of Waterford, Ireland, Waterford Marina Hotel is a newly renovated property that combines small-town charm with beautifully designed accommodations. The edge of the property sits on the banks of the River Suir, offering guests a view of the water and the neatly lined houses on the opposite shore.

River Suir estuary is frequently visited by dolphins and even porpoises during calm seas. The hotel terrace, which sits right over the river, is a great place to relax and observe the local marine life with a cup of coffee before you head out to explore the city.

The Vibe & Shared Spaces

Recent renovations allowed the hotel to step up its game, becoming the city’s newest four-star property. Various shades of blue are predominant across the property. The nautical-themed elements blend the interior decor well with the surrounding nature. The lobby has a few comfortable sitting areas and a small library corner. Large windows throughout let the light in, changing the mood throughout the day. The ground floor also houses the Elva Restaurant and The 1843 Bar, both of which have access to the outdoor terrace.

Guests are invited to take advantage of complimentary wifi and parking at the rear of the hotel.

Inside the Suite

Waterford Marina Hotel offers a wide range of suite types, from standard double to triple, and family suites, with the largest room being the Junior Riverview Suite. The Junior suite has three sitting areas: a table and chairs in a window corner, a spacious couch, table and chairs near the TV, and a writing desk by the window. This particular unit is divided into three spaces: the separate seating area, the bedroom, and a spacious walk-in wardrobe with extra amenities. The corner suite has many windows looking over the marina and River Suir. The heavy curtains are there for privacy, but if you don’t mind waking with the sun, this is a great room to do so in.

All rooms have beautifully renovated bathrooms with modern amenities, dark turquoise tiled rain showers, double-vanity, and plenty of space to spread out your bathroom kit. Bathrobes, fresh towels, and complete amenity kits are stocked on arrival.

Fully accessible rooms are available.

Bar & Restaurant

The Elva Restaurant is where you will find breakfast and dinner. This sun-drenched room is beautifully designed with mixed sitting options like blue velvet benches and fun orange chairs illuminated by jellyfish-shaped light fixtures. The breakfast bar has hot and cold options, from eggs to yoghurt and cereal. The service is offered with a smile, and the team is always ready to offer recommendations and support upon request.

The 1843 Bar opens at noon and closes at 9 PM daily (typical in Ireland). This room has a more casual atmosphere, with a beautiful bar, a combination of comfortable booths, tables, and benches along the brick wall. The clean acorn table lamps set the mood across the centre of the space, while various sea creature portraits add a bit of a quirky character.

The terrace has a typical marina atmosphere with picnic tables lined along the wall on the bar side and dining tables with yellow chairs along the restaurant end. During the colder days, special heaters add the much-needed warmth for those looking to stargaze with a cocktail.
