Frankfurt Airport (FRA) is a major flight hub for European destinations, and it can often be a stopover on your journey to another location. While a city stay is always preffered late and early departure and arrival times might require an overnight stay as close to your gate as possible. There are a few hotels near the airport with mixed reviews, but Hotel NH Frankfurt Airport, despite its 4.0 rating on TripAdvisor, has proven to be a comfortable stay, enhanced with spa-like amenities.

The Vibe & Shared spaces
The best way to reach the property is using the frequent complimentary shuttle that travels door-to-door. The hotel is a cube that wraps around an open courtyard that many rooms look out onto. Half of the lobby is outfitted as an entertainment area with comfortable couches, a TV, books, and a self-serve convenience store. To the left is the hotel’s restaurant, striking at first glance with an accent fireplace in the centre of the lounge.
The outdoor courtyard works as a lounge with tables and couches spread out between the cherry trees and other plant life. The property is certified sustainable and allows pets.
Shuttle schedule:
- Hotel to Airport: from 05:00 AM – 10:30 PM (every half hour), 10:30 PM last bus to the airport.
- Airport to Hotel: from 05:00 AM – 10:45 PM (every half hour), 10:45 PM last bus at the hotel.
On-site dinning
The restaurant is elevated and beautifully decorated with a classic bar towards the back of the room. The front of the dining room has casual seating with soft benches set around the fireplace, an ideal spot for a nightcap. The back of the room follows a classic dining room format, with each table ready with a complete dining set.
The menu includes a variety of local and international dishes, from hearty schnitzel to juicy burgers. The seasonal menu focuses on uniquely seasonal items, like white asparagus, used in an impressive selection of dishes from soup to main dishes. Breakfast is served daily from 6:00 am – 10:30 AM, 11:00 AM on saturdays and noon on Sundays. Dinner is served till 11 PM, but the bar is open till 1 AM.
Inside the Suite
There are only 158 rooms at the NH Frankfurt Airport Hotel, ranging from standard doubles to suites and a superior room with a terrace. The standard room has plenty of storage, a coffee and tea setup, a large flat screen TV, and a good-sized desk for working travellers. The rooms are comfortable and cosy, perfect for a short stay before your flight.
Wellness & Fitness facilities
Perhaps the most underused part of this hotel are its fitness and spa facilities. Located on the lower level, the gym is split into two rooms: a weight room with machines and a dumbbell rack and a cardio room with its own dumbbell rack. A spacious spa lounge, open 24 hours a day, is on the same floor. In this room, guests will find a classic sauna and a few loungers to cool down on with a book. Lockers, towels, showers, and changing rooms are available.
