Do you ever look at a place and think to yourself: “I would love to stay there!”
Our Instagram-driven travel culture and ability to actually find and stay in unique privately owned homes opened doors to a lot of locations and spaces you may not have been able to easily access before. I find that in most instances you look for a place to stay based on a destination but some of these incredible homes deserve to be a trip on their own. Here’s a list of the most interesting unique homes in unique locations from AirBNB I found this month.

Unique and Secluded AirShip with Breathtaking Highland Views
Location: Tobermory, Scotland, United Kingdom
Space: AirShip is an insulated aluminum pod, located on four acres of land, with views of the Sound of Mull through its dragonfly windows. The home is quite small, enough for 2 guests who can share 1 bedroom and a bath. The nearby town was built as a fishing port in the late 18th century and today acts as the main town of Isle of Mull, an island just off the coast of Scotland, the second-largest island of the Inner Hebrides.
Rancho Esto Es Vida

Space: This unique home on a hillside promises fantastic sunrises visible from the bed, glorious outdoor baths, and plenty of outdoor space for relaxation. The living room is fully exposed and so is the tiny kitchenette. The bedroom is partially open and has one large bed. There are two baths, also located outdoors and overlooking the mountains and you even have your own little tiki bar! A short distance away in a nearby village there are restaurants and cafés worth a visit.
Tiny House Near Casa Wabi

Space: Another tiny designer house with access to a private beach and private pool surrounded by nature. The home is located near a larger house, Casa Wabi (artist residency), and Hotel Escondido where you can have dinner. Guests have access to the rest of the property, hammocks, and common living space, and are invited to make pizza in the brick oven. The property is a 30-minute drive from Puerto Escondido, a port and resort town on Mexico’s Pacific coast in the state of Oaxaca.
Off-Grid Designer Tiny House on a Mountain Top!

Space: A tiny modern house located on 30 acres of a mountain top overlooking Boulder and the front range. The house is a custom built by the owner and is only 160 sq ft but offers a lot of light and 2-bed options. They’re lovely hiking trails nearby and as previous renters keep on saying “million-dollar views for days”.
Luxury Stone and Timber Tree House on 20-Acre Farm
Location: Concord, North Carolina, United States
Space: This is luxurious tree house glamping in the middle of tall pines, set back in a 20-acre farm estate in Concord. The house is a one-room space featuring a queen bed with hand-crafted furnishings and decor. The only downside is a shared bathroom, located nearby, but it is all very organized and eco-friendly! Guests can also take advantage of an above-ground pool, deck, hot tub, and a shared fire pit. The home is located on a farm so there are some free-range animals, including chickens, and a farm dog.
